Port Burwell Provincial Park, ON.
This neat little park is situated on the north shore of Lake Erie, some 40 minutes from St Thomas. It's close to the town of Port Burwell.

General Stuff
The park fronts the lake with a big beach and plenty of parking - it gets busy in the summer. The campground is a few hundred yards inland and you have to use the public road to go between the two. The Campground is heavily wooded and has three distinct loops. Each site is large and level although like all the Provincial Parks there is only an electrical hookup. The Comfort Stations are a little tired-looking but clean and perfectly usable. We found our site to be very private and the whole place was pretty quiet. The day use area is well kept and is on the Monarch Butterfly migration route and is also know for its other wildlife. The Campground office has a small stock of camping requisites, candy and cold drinks.
Opinion
We visited the park at the end of September and autumn (fall) was well underway already. The park was very quiet and the town of Port Burwell across the river was shut for the season. The site we had was very quiet and private and made for a relaxing weekend. We spent our time there exploring the local area, namely Aylmer and St Thomas; had the weather been a little better we may have spent a bit of time on the beach. There are a lot of wind turbines in the area and there's a small visitor centre near the park, sadly closed for the season when we were there. This park is very popular and we intend on going back for a summer trip at some point. Last visited September/October 2011.
