… and we've done nothing.
Well, almost nothing. We did go up to London (Ontario) to collect Towed Haul a few weeks ago. She was looking very tired from spending eight months in the outdoor storage lot. I had been a bit concerned with the hitch receiver on the Toad Mobile because, after eight winters, it was looking very sorry for itself. I did spend some time knocking off the rust and examining it for cracks and bends, but actually it was pretty sound - it rang nicely when rapped with a small hammer - so I decided that it was still good. I cleaned it up, coated it in some anti-rust paint and set off to collect the trailer. She hitched up happily and we did the 100km run back home using the back roads, the trailer behaving well and sticking close behind the Toad Mobile without a hint of a problem. Another quick inspection when we unhitched and all seems well. Unfortunately, due to some hideous weather and a lack of time, the poor Airstream has sat unloved on the drive since we arrived home. We have a couple of trips planned over the next couple of months so we do need to get her road ready. The weather is co-operating this long weekend, so I think that's going to be our task today. More on this when we've spruced the old girl up a bit.
